Car Reposession - Options for Paying Deficiency

Hey everyone,

So 3 years ago I got my car repossessed. The remaining balance after it was sold to auction is about $6,800. I'm just now reading and learning about how I can possibly be sued.

I have always had the intention to pay the amount and not settle for less, just because that's what I feel I should do. The statute of limitations for my state is up in August of 2017, but I am now worried about them coming for me.

As far as my credit score, what would he the best option to take care of this. I have really been working to improve my credit, and went from 545 to 636 just this past year.

I will have the full amount to pay them by January or February. Should I wait it out and then call them up and pay, or should I begin a payment plan? I'd like to do a payment plan of about $100 a month just to move forward now before they potentially come after me, and then pay it in full early next year. But will that "restart the clock" on my repossession showing on my credit. Will it add a separate negative mark on my credit?

Any and all help is much appreciated Smiley Happy

Brandon
