Century Link

I had a Century Link account put into collections Sept 15.  It is being being collected by central control services.  I emailed Century Link for a PFD.  Here's how our email has went so far.  

 

Hello Dustin,


Thank you for your recent e-mail inquiry to CenturyLink. I apologize for the delay in responding to your e-mail.

I can not find that account so I am guessing it was for unreturned equipment. Yes if you pay it, it will come off your credit report.

 

I then said:

 

Can you provide proof of the debt before I pay it please

 

They said:

 

We are unable toprocess your request at this time as your account information needs to beverified. For security and verification purposes, can you please provide yourCenturyLink account number and TWO of the following forms ofidentification?

-Last 4 digits ofyour Social Security Number
-Billing address
-Last billingamount
-Three digitcustomer code
Once we receiveyour information we will be happy to assist you.

So I am wondering if I should give them this Info or where I should go with this.  I really don't want to have to pay this.  Would it be best to dispute it with the EX, EQ, and TU with the reason I have no knowledge of this account instead of giving century link all the other information where they might find the reason?
